  • Enjoy beautifully prepared meals cooked over embers

Join us for the ultimate short Scottish river expedition. This 70km guided three-day trip takes us on a river journey through a stunning landscape from Pitlochry to Perth. This is a perfect opportunity for those with a little paddling experience to hone their skills on a relatively easy river and develop some bush-craft know-how along the way. We will wild camp on river banks and islands and dine around a campfire before falling asleep to the sounds of the river flowing past us. For a short trip, this adventure packs a punch and it is hard to describe the sense of achievement and accomplishment one feels after completing such a journey through some of nature’s finest scenery. Whether you choose one of our Spring or Autumn departures, you are sure to see nature at its very best!

ITINERARY:

Day 1: Meet in Pitlochry. Load canoes and set off on the River Tummel, joining the River Tay after an hour’s paddling. Arrive at first night’s wild camp near Dunkeld

Day 2: Set off on the River Tay and stop off almost immediately to explore Dunkeld. Continue paddling all the way to Campsie Linn waterfalls and second night’s wild camp just below

Day 3: Set off and immediately negotiate Stanley Weir and the rapids and bouncy waves of Hell Hole and Thistlebrigg. Paddle the calmer waters of the Tay all the way into the centre of Perth. Egress and unload canoes. End of expedition.
